With his unique brand of philosophies, Jim Rohn was considered to be the mentor to many of todays self-help gurus including Tony Robbins. This charismatic success councillor, motivational speaker, and author shared words of wisdom given to him by his mentor John Earl Shoaff.

Born Emanuel James Rohn on 17 September 1930 in Yakima Washington. Jim was raised as a only child on a farm in Caldwell Idaho by his parents Clara and Emanuel.

Jim shared his unique story, wisdom, and success principles with over 6,000 audiences and more than 5 million people around the world.

In 1955 while raising his family, Jim worked as a stock clerk for Sears. In debt, and living paycheck to paycheck, Jim decided to go to a seminar by Earl Shoaff.

Captivated by the self-made millionaire, Jim had the good fortune to become friends with Shoaff who gave him a job as a distributor in his direct selling business.

In 1957, Jim joined Shoaff in another of his direct selling companies. And Shoaff started to mentor him, and Jim went on to build one of the largest organizations in the company.

After the Nitri-Bio corporation expanded into Canada Jim was made vice-president. But in the early 1960’s after it went out of business, Jim was invited to tell his story at his rotary club. After which Jim got more requests to speak at other functions.

Then in Beverly Hills in 1963 Jim gave his first full seminar and a star was born. Focusing on the fundamentals of business and personal success Jim also went on to author more than 25 books, audio, and DVD programs.

This legendary master motivator had exceptional powers of communication. Throughout the 1970s, Jim gave a number of lectures to Standard Oil, trained hundreds of executives, and influenced an entire generation of motivational speakers.

Jim had a deep understanding of human nature and infused simple steps for constant self-improvement into all those who heard him. In 1985 Jim was awarded the National Speakers Associations award for excellence in speaking.

Jim Rohn died on 5 December 2009 and was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. But Jim’s words of wisdom shall forever live on.
